Rolando Anillo has practiced law in Cuba as well as in the United States. Born in Santiago de Cuba, he graduated cum laude from the University of Havana law school in 1988, and received his MBA from Barry University in 1997.

Teo A. Babún, Jr., is the author of more than 100 manuscripts and reports on Cuba businesses, infrastructure, and religion. He is the CEO of ECHOcuba, a non-profit effort that trains Cubans on leadership, free market and democracy concepts. He is an Electrical Engineer, who holds an MBA and a Ph.D. He is a winner of an outstanding alumni award from Michigan Tech University, where he has been inducted into the Electrical and Computer Engineering Academy.

Vegard Bye is a Norwegian political scientist, Associate Research Fellow at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, and Partner in the consulting company Scanteam. His work record includes senior positions with the UN and Norad (Norway’s Development Cooperation Agency), long experience as reporter and part-time university lecturer and thesis supervisor. He has written various books on Latin American topics, and has followed Cuba since working there with the UN in the late 1970s.

Julio Cerviño is Professor of International Marketing and Co-director of the Masters in International Management at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He received a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Universidad Autonóma de Madrid. He holds an MBA in International Business from Washington University in St. Louis (MO). He regularly collaborates with the Faculty of Accounting and Economics of the University of Havana in academic exchanges and research programs.
Carmen Díaz se graduó como Licenciada en Física en la Universidad de La Habana y obtuvo una maestría en ese campo. Trabajó en la docencia e investigación dentro de esta disciplina hasta su salida de Cuba en 1980. Desde entonces vive en el sur de La Florida donde ha impartido clases en varias universidades y obtuvo una maestría y un doctorado en Psicología Clínica con concentración en el área de Neuropsicología. Desde 1993 trabaja para University of Miami Behavioral Health (UMBH), afiliada al Departamento de Psiquiatría de la Universidad de Miami. Su trabajo clínico incluye intervención de crisis, rehabilitación neurocognitiva, supervisión de internos doctorales, así como diagnóstico y diseño de programas de salud mental. Ilan Ehrlich is an assistant professor of history at Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey. He received his Ph.D. in Latin American history in September of 2009 from the Graduate Center, City University of New York. His forthcoming book, entitled Eduardo Chibás: The Incorrigible Man of Cuban Politics, is a political biography that explores the role of messianism and charisma in defending democratic institutions. During the 2008- 2009 academic year, Dr. Ehrlich was a dissertation fellow at the Leon Levy Center for Biography.
Oscar Espinosa Chepe se graduó como economista en 1967 en la Universidad de La Habana. Trabajó en varias agencias del gobierno y fue víctima de juicio político y expulsado de su trabajo en el Banco Nacional en 1992. Fue condenado a 20 años de prisión en abril de 2003 por sus actividades como analista económico y periodista independiente. Richard Feinberg is professor of international political economy at the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies, University of California, San Diego. Feinberg served as special assistant to President Clinton and senior director of the National Security Council’s Office of Inter-American Affairs. He has held positions on the State Department’s policy planning staff and worked as an international economist in the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of International Affairs.

Rodolfo J. Stusser, M.D., has had an over-40-year career as consultant, professor and researcher at the University of Havana. He was a pioneer in Cuba on primary health care general medicine research and on global health policy and system research. A former cardio-vascular physiologist, general internist and practitioner, he specialized on clinical biostatistics/ epidemiology, pioneering multi-factorial analysis of Cuba‘s primary health care and the execution of the first Cuban clinical and population cancer and heart trials. He coordinated cancer research with East European COMECON nations, advised Nicaragua‘s Ministry of Public Health on infant mortality reduction and scientific/technological programs during 1988-90 and taught in Managua Universities under a cooperation agreement with WHO and UNESCO. While in Cuba, he collaborated with professors at Wake Forest, Minnesota and Washington Universities. In 2006, he had to retire as MD, because from 1994-2009 the Cuban Ministry of Public Health denied exit permission for 33 invitations from U.S. universities/societies to lecture and collaborate.
