Domingo Amuchástegui is a graduate of Havana University, Florida International University, and the University of Miami. Author and co-author of a dozen books in Cuba and the United States as well as hundreds of articles and scores of essays. Chief analyst in the field of Cuba’s foreign policy. Fact-finding missions throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. He has been a Political Analyst at CubaNews since 1994.
Rolando Anillo was born in Santiago de Cuba and graduated cum laude from the University of Havana Law School in 1988. Since his graduation thesis about the Associations Between Cuban and Foreign Entities, Mr. Anillo has been involved in the research and study of Cuban laws and regulations. Mr. Anillo specializes in U.S.-Cuba Federal Regulations, Cuban Law and International law and is admitted to practice law in Cuba and in the United States. He is an active writer and speaker on legal topics regarding U.S-Cuba laws and regulations and he is the President of the Cuban Claims Owners’ Association, a not-for-profit organization created with the purpose of providing updated information and analysis on the Cuban legal and economic situation.

Yvon Grenier (Ph.D. Université Laval, 1989) is Professor of Political Science at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada. He is the author of Guerre et pouvoir au Salvador (Les Presses de l’Université Laval, 1994), The Emergence of Insurgency in El Salvador (University of Pittsburgh Press and Macmillan, 1999), Art and Politics: Octavio Paz and the Pursuit of Freedom (Rowman and Littlefield, 2001; Spanish trans. for the Fondo de Cultura Económica in 2004), and co-autor with Maarten Van Delden of Gunshots at the Fiesta: Literature and Politics in Latin America (Vanderbilt University Press, 2009, 2012). He edited (selection of texts and introduction) a book of political essays by the Mexican Nobel laureate Octavio Paz, entitled Sueño en libertad, escritos políticos (Seix Barral, 2001). Professor Grenier was editor of the Canadian Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies and he is contributing editor of the magazine Literal, Latin American Voices.
Ernesto Hernández-Catá received his License in Political Science from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, and his Ph.D in Economics from Yale University. He spent most of his career at the International Monetary Fund where he served as Associate Director of the African and the Western hemisphere Departments; manager of the World Economic Outlook; and chief negotiator with the Russian Federation. He was also chairman of the Investment Committee of the Staff Retirement Plan. At various times he taught at the Latin American Program in Applied Economics of The American University (macroeconomics) and at the School of Advanced International Studies of the John Hopkins University (economic development).
Joseph Humire is Executive Director of the Center for a Secure Free Society (SFS), based in Washington, D.C. He is a global security expert specializing in asymmetric warfare and eight-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served combat tours in Iraq and Liberia and taken part in multinational training exercises in Latin America and the Caribbean. Among several publications on security issues is his most recent book Iran’s Strategic Penetration of Latin America published by Lexington Books in October 2014.

Luis Martínez-Fernández, Ph.D., is Professor of History at the University of Central Florida. His primary fields of study are the histories of Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Hispanics/Latinos in the U.S. His books include Fighting Slavery in the Caribbean (1998) and Revolutionary Cuba: A History (2014). He served as Senior Editor of the multi-award-wining Encyclopedia of Cuba: People, History, Culture (2003).

Ana Quintana is a Policy Analyst at The Heritage Foundation’s Allison Center for Foreign Policy Studies in Washington. She leads the foundation’s efforts on U.S. foreign policy towards Latin America. Ana specializes in U.S. policy toward Latin America, with an emphasis on Cuba, and concentrates largely on issues of democratic governance, security cooperation, and economic freedom.
Rosendo Romero Suárez is an art historian and professor based in Baracoa, Cuba. He has taught at the Baracoa-based branch of the Centro Provincial de Superación para la Cultura de Guantánamo. He is a recognized, award-winning expert in Baracoan and, more broadly, Cuban art. Rosendo is the producer of numerous events and exhibitions (in Baracoa and elsewhere in Cuba) that showcase Cuban painting, dance, music, and other art forms. He is a published author and experienced public speaker. Rosendo graduated from the University of Havana.

Es el creador y dirige el Proyecto JLM, así como imparte cursos de estadísticas y matemáticas aplicadas.
Zoila B. Romeu estudio educación en el Instituto Pedagógico Enrique José Varona de la Universidad de La Habana, e hizo una Maestría en Cultural Foundations in Education, en la Universidad de Syracuse. Tiene más de treinta años de experiencia docente en aulas secundarias de Cuba y EE.UU. especialmente en LaFayette H.S./NY, una escuela mixta, que sirve una substancial población indígena de la Nación Onondaga. Es la Directora de Programas Sociales del Proyecto JLM e imparte cursos de pedagogía.
Juan Tomás Sánchez es ingeniero civil, graduado de la Universidad de Miami, y licenciado para la práctica en el Estado de La Florida. Representa a la Asociación de Colonos (Cañicultores) desde 1998. Publica regularmente estudios sobre la industria azucarera y la agricultura en general en el Anuario de ASCE. Escribe sobre temas en Legislación Obrera y zucarera comparando a Cuba con otras áreas productoras. Mantiene informado al grupo de los principales participantes e interesados en una reconstrucción de la industria azucarera en Cuba en un marco de economía privada y estado de derecho.
